Interpod orthotic additions are used to fine tune and improve orthotic prescription outcomes.
In particular patients with 1st Ray/1st metatarsal issues and forefoot pain will respond to a forefoot pad. Decreased ankle dorsiflexion benefits from the use of a heel lift, they also increase ankle dorsiflexion. They are also used as rearfoot wedges on the orthotic heel to increase control.
The PMP Pad is used for metatarsal pains to re-distribute pressure from the Met Heads or it can be trimmed to form a Met Bar. It is also used to create a Reverse Windlass effect for patients with clawed toes.
The Lateral Pad is used to elevate Mets 2-5, allowing the 1st Met to plantar flex increasing dorsiflexion for improved Windlass function.
